Fermion-Higgs model with Reduced Staggered Fermions

چکیده
We introduce a lattice fermion-Higgs model with one component ‘reduced staggered’ fermions. In order to use the fermion field as efficiently as possible we couple the two staggered flavors to the O(4) Higgs field leading to a model with only one SU(2) doublet in the scaling region. The number of fermions is doubled in a numerical investigation of the model with the hybrid Monte Carlo algorithm. We present results for the phase diagram, particle masses and renormalized couplings on lattices ranging in size from 624 to 1624. $ e-mail: [email protected] ∗ e-mail: [email protected] # e-mail: [email protected]

It is an important issue to investigate within a non-perturbative regularization scheme whether the quartic self-coupling and Yukawa coupling of the fermion-Higgs sector of the Standard model (StM) remain relatively small when increasing the bare couplings to very large values. For this it is desirable to construct a lattice fermion-Higgs model with a realistic fermion content. A naive transcri...

We discuss the construction of a chiral random matrix model for staggered fermions. This model includes O(a) corrections to the continuum limit of staggered fermions and is related to the zero momentum limit of the Lee-Sharpe Lagrangian for staggered fermions. The naive construction based on a specific expansion in lattice spacing (a) of the Dirac matrix produces the term which gives the domina...

We present results for the renormalized quartic self-coupling λR and the Yukawa coupling yR in a lattice fermion-Higgs model with two SU(2)L doublets, mostly for large values of the bare couplings. One-component (‘reduced’) staggered fermions are used in a numerical simulation with the Hybrid Monte Carlo algorithm. The fermion and Higgs masses and the renormalized scalar field expectation value...
متن کاملOn tadpole improvement for staggered fermions
One-loop renormalization constants for a number of staggered-fermion operators have large finite parts (see e.g. ref. [1]), which appear not to be explained by gluon-tadpole contributions. This is in contrast to the situation with Wilson fermions, where tadpole improvement [2] appears to work well. Staggered and Wilson fermions differ in the way they deal with the doubling problem: in the Wilso...
متن کاملJu n 19 99 Meron - Cluster Simulation of a Chiral Phase Transition with Staggered Fermions ∗
We examine a (3 + 1)-dimensional model of staggered lattice fermions with a four-fermion interaction and Z Z(2) chiral symmetry using the Hamiltonian formulation. This model cannot be simulated with standard fermion algorithms because those suffer from a very severe sign problem. We use a new fermion simulation technique — the meron-cluster algorithm — which solves the sign problem and leads to...
